A new wave of technologies is on the verge of producing energy that’s clean, renewable, and most importantly, affordable.

@jpd1235 you dont linger. your soul and energy moves on out of your physical body.

To see a 60 sec rap about energy conservation go to my channel and watch the video that a friend and I made for Efficiency Maine.

As this man says in the vidoe; We HAVE to start as individuals. So completely true because if we leave it to the government or some fund (=OILCOMPANIES) we get nothing good out of it. I’d say all start assembling, building and developing your own green-energy!

@myozone
I completely agree. Altough It may sound nostalgic to think so, we must go back in time a little. How about abandoning the economic system. Grow our own crops we need and take care of the others. I know that it sounds alot like communism and well, essentialy it is. The only bad thing about communism is the way (until now) that it has been put into practice.

Gee, Thank you for letting me know that “individuals can only do so much”. We wouldn’t wanna’ go getting all cocky like da Vinci, Edison or Tesla. And PLEASE don’t say that to Obama!

Hydrogen is the fuel of the furture there is no dout.

ethanol and other bio fuels are more harmful to nature when burned than usual petrol. In addition they also create competition between food and petrol which makes food prices rise which is just absurd. We don’t need new fuels, we need a transition power everything with electricity. Electricity can be generated from lots and lots of different sources and renewables are the only way to go.
Comment by ultimazer1 — June 1, 2010 @ 8:19 pm
Cellulolistic based ethanol and corn based ethanol are not sources of renewable energy. These plants get their energy from the sun: the incident radiation and also from the fertilizers they are fed (petroleum byproducts): the sun is a source of renewable energy, not the plant with all of its primary, secondary, and tertiary dependencies. Secondly, considering these plants as a sustainable source of energy is dubious at best.
Their usefulness will be highly region dependent.

Hmm, the only REAL answer is not be reliant on our cars/transportation as we have been in the 100 years. We have think BEFORE we used OIL and live as we did then – DON’T look for ‘alternatives’ to an OIL based economy its unsupportable and not sustainable.
OIL = WARS – be warned !
Comment by myozone — June 1, 2010 @ 9:26 pm
wow instead of spending bilions of dollars on low production renewable energy plants we could develop a better way of working with the nuclear energy and dispose the toxic materials into space->leading to more space technology development as offproduct. Please do not give money to those who developed global warming(since IPCC “lost” its data there is no scientific proof the earth is warming up
)

The wind and sun are the two prominent sources of clean energy. With a growing urgency to fight climate change, renewable energy may be the way ahead. Transformer company, Pacific Crest Transformers has been working on promoting and building a renewable energy economy.

The same people who have prevented man from using alternative sources of fuel for decades, are now touting that it is urgent that we find alternative sources for energy. Have they convinced enough of us that the global warming is a threat? I don’t think so. They have prematurely pulled that trigger. In light of climategate, there will be more who open their eyes.

We are getting closer to clean low cost energy….If we can just get past the status quo.

Now there are so many possibilities for alternative fuel. Liquid fuels made from organic materials e.g sugar and vegetation. Gas fuels made from methane and c02, compressed air engines, hydrogen, electricity created by either nuclear or hydro, wind and solar means. Magnetic energy, Kinetic energy. The list goes on and on, and you can combine all of these methods with one another for even greater possibilities. The only reason we still use fossil fuel is because its extremely profitable.
