Global Warming: Winter Weirding

Climate deniers like to claim that cold weather over eastern north america and eurasia somehow contradicts a warming planet. In fact, scientists are now observing what may become a more frequent pattern, caused by declining northern sea ice – of frigid polar air being pushed out of the arctic regions, while warmer air is drawn to northern areas. www.nytimes.com www.independent.co.uk climatecrocks.com

  1. @kennjohnsen He manipulates his predictions and he doesn’t release the methods. He is a con and a wacko. If you cant see that then you are just as insane.

“What do you know about what caused the Earthquake ?” My god you cannot be serious. Oh course we know how the earthquake happened, no wonder you trust that guy, you know nothing about basic science. Its called plate tectonics. Holy fuck you don’t know that????? What an idiot.

What do you know about what caused the Earthquake ? I am talking about his weather forecasting. And he nail it most of the time.

  3. @kennjohnsen Well no I am not, but you seem to be. You trust pier corbyn who believes the earthquake in japan is caused by the moon.

Sorry it seems like you are a moron, not me in this case.

  5. @johnsenkenn Pier corbyn LOL really, you mean the guy that said the “supermoon” caused the earthquake in japan. Yeah lets trust what he as to say, he is only completely insane.

  6. I think they are having a hard time with definitions. Someone should explain the difference between “global” and “local” and the difference between “climate” and “weather”

  7. Oh yes, getting colder is really getting warmer, I mean what school child doesn’t know that. War is Peace as Obama said. Black is White and day is night. I would never deny any of these truths. Weather Weirding? Uhuh! Mind Weirding? Definitely! Complete and absolute horse manure? Without doubt!

“Vague”? Predicting extreme weather events weeks in advance, when conventional meteorology only figures them out a day or two in advance (and in some cases right when they start)… is “vague” in your opinion? LOL

  10. @johnsenkenn “ook how spot on he was with his weather forecasting”

Yup, just like a “psychic” he gives vague general predictions, crows whenever he gets something even close to right, and under-reports the ones that are wrong.

Try something interesting, go to WeatherAction……click on Latest news and events…..click on 2nd February 2011…….20th February 2011….and look how spot on he was with his weather forecasting…..amazing is it not, and all based on the sun.

  13. In the next few years it will be settled whether it’s global warming or global cooling there will hit the world. When you sit and starve to death in this global cooling because the growing season are to short to grow corn…grain, and the world tumbles around you because of that then, remember those global warming scammers, it’s payback time.

  14. Read Pier Corbyn weather forecasting, and simply by observation of his forecasting accuracy, it’s easy to understand he is on to something, and that means your global warming crooks fatasy is a scam, your global warming CO2 scam is created to push your ideology thru, it’s made to make the fools/blue-collar to accept much higher taxes….much lower living standard.

  15. @smartalek65 “Spencer’s not implying what you’re reading into what he says.”

    What he says:

“As far as the race for warmest year goes, 1998 (+0.424 deg. C) barely edged out 2010 (+0.411 deg. C), but the difference (0.01 deg. C) is nowhere near statistically significant. So feel free to use or misuse those statistics to your heart’s content.”

This means that statistically, 2010 tied with 1998 since there is no statistically significant difference, even with a 1998 El Nino and solar peak.

  16. @greenman3610 I don’t have to. Spencer’s not implying what you’re reading into what he says.

You’d better write to Spencer. Obviously he could benefit from your knowledge.

    Comment by greenman3610 — June 25, 2011 @ 10:24 pm

  21. @greenman3610 You should try reading actual data, rather than trusting the opinion of a biased website (which is NOT Dr. Spencer’s, as you claim to reference). 2010′s peak is nowhere near 1998′s. Quit repeating the useless fact of a solar minimum as if solar effects were the only effect possible besides AGW.

    google
Dec. 2010 UAH Global Temperature Update: +0.18 deg. C
go to Roy Spencer’s site. Spencer is a well known skeptic and custodian of the UAH data you reference.
Spencer has 2010 tied for warmest year, the difference being below the margin of error.
This in spite of the last 6 months being a cooling la nina event, and the sun emerging from the lowest solar
cycle in a hundred years. (98 was a huge el nino warming, and peak solar cycle)

    Comment by greenman3610 — June 25, 2011 @ 11:52 pm

  23. @Astrostevo That’s at odds with the other 3 datasets (and NOAA & NASA use the same one) by UAH, RSS (both satellite), and HadCRUt. NASA’s the outlier here. This shows the bias of true believers-that despite data to the contrary, such individuals will cling to anything that comes closest to what is believed. Our host continues to present the notion that 2010 was the warmest on record despite 3 of 4 datasets saying otherwise.

  24. “Fats up with that?”….. The Domino effect.
Freedom is either just another word for nothing left to lose or just some people
talking… your prison is walkin’ through this world all alone. Variable degrees of perception of the same instance. Depending if you look or not may change the outcome. We are not sure if it is just the photon that acts in this manner. Other forms of energy may be dependent on attention span of observers. Not sure what happened to the planet inhabited by Irish setters

    Comment by bflatkitty — June 26, 2011 @ 12:47 am

  25. @greenman3610 : NASA & NOAA say 2010 ties with 2005 as the warmest year ever – see their websites for more.
