- made in red china (saves you cash, slowly ruins the dollar)
- made of 18/8 stainless steel (good, but NOT the best)
- has holes to permit rapid BREEDING of fruit-flies (enjoy!)
Why O why should a mfr be SO CHEAP as to opt for 18/8 stainless
instead of the much better 18/10 stainless steel. It figures:
they stoop to having the stuff made in officially atheist red
China, and you wonder why they should withhold spending extra
money on selecting 18/10 S/S (instead of the inferior 18/8)?
18/10 stainless KILLS ODORS (when wet) without help, so (of
all types of products) a composting wastepail SHOULD logically
HAVE a built-in way to control smells. But nooooo…
One additional negative comment: “Stainless” does not mean
RUST-FREE. It means stain-LESS (not -proof). Semantics?

Maybe I’m just a little slow, but I didn’t realize that this pail was just an intermediary step in the composting process. It holds all your kitchen clippings until you are ready to make the trek outside to your real composting bin. For some reason, I thought I could make dirt in my own kitchen. Now I need to get a real composting bin for outside! Oh well, it’s a good-looking pail, and it gets the job done — no smells are emanating from it.

I love this product. It’s great for all the fruit and vegetable peeling, coffee grounds, egg shells and various food scraps. I don’t like putting food scraps in my trash can and have recently started a compost heap so this is a great addition to my kitchen. It looks great on the counter. I really like the stainless steel finish. It matches all the rest of my appliances. I use Glad one gallon twist tab storage bags to line it. I didn’t want colored trash bags to distract from the stainless color. The two charcoal filters in the lid really contain any ordors that would arise. I highly recommend this compost pail!

I’ve been waiting on my compost hoop to arrive, and in the mean time have been throwing produce scraps into this pail. It’s been 2 weeks and there is absolutely no smell. Great product.

This is a fantastic little bucket! After almost two months of use there is nothing I would change about the RSVP Compost Pail. No problem with fruit flies or stink so far; I empty it once or twice a week, rinse it out and let it air-dry before I put the lid back on. We generally keep it under the sink but it looks nice enough to leave out on the counter. My in-laws have had one for almost a year and love it too.
